Keratoconus

Keratoconus is a rare, progressive disease that affects the cornea, which is the clear, transparent layer at the front of the eye. The cornea is responsible for focusing the light that comes into your eye onto the retina for clear, sharp vision.

Keratoconus causes the corneal tissue to thin out and bulge into a cone-like shape which deflects the light entering the eye and distorts vision.

Scleral Lenses

At the more advanced stage of keratoconus rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses, scleral or semi-scleral lenses may be used for increased comfort and visual acuity. Since they are more rigid, RGP and scleral lenses are able to create a smooth, round shape around the cornea, creating a smoother surface for better vision.

The team is absolutely amazing! We brought my stepson in for his first eye exam and they were so great. The Dr was thorough, and the office staff were all so friendly. I feel terrible for forgetting the woman’s name who helped us pick out his glasses because she was so awesome. She took the time to explain to him how to take care of his glasses and really understood him. Thank you all for making his first experience wonderful!

Staff was really nice and welcoming. I wish I would have known about this office before! Super happy with the way Dr. Yoo listened to my concerns. He was the first doctor to do so and was able to find the issue with my eyes. I’ll be coming back in the future for eye exams and will recommend to family and friends.
